　　马蒂厄已经35岁，却从未见过自己的父亲。母亲解释缘由时只推托说他是一夜情的结果。一天，他接到一个陌生来电，这个电话告诉他，他的亲生父亲刚刚过世。于是马蒂厄暂别妻子和孩子，决定飞去加拿大参加葬礼，并见见他那两个素未谋面的兄弟。在蒙特利尔，除了父亲的好友皮埃尔，没人知道他的存在与真实身份。但与此同时，马蒂厄也意识到他似乎进入了一个充满敌意的地方。

剧情取自法国普列服(1697一1763)的同名小说：皇室侍卫军医士列斯科送表妹曼侬去亚眠修道院，路上结识骑士格里奥，二人偕奔巴黎同居。后格里奥财尽，曼侬又嫁与富翁热龙特，不久嫌热龙特老。重遇格里奥，二人复好。热龙特大怒，以不守妇德罪控告曼侬。曼侬被判流放美洲，虽经表兄及格里奥多方营救，均无效。格里奥获准同行，沿途悉心照料。曼侬身为囚徒，衣衫褴褛，饥寒交迫，始忏悔前非，向格里奥吐露真实爱情，但为时巳晚，不久即在美洲放途中死去。

该剧讲述一次外星人的攻击让地球上的人类几乎消灭殆尽，只有少数人类还在为生存而战。艾米丽(埃德加-琼斯饰)发现她能与外星人产生奇怪的个人联系。在第二季中，入侵者是人类的可能性弄得所有人晕头转向，等待他们的是一场夺回地球的紧张战斗。霍华德·欧尔曼(《梅林传奇》)操刀剧本。该 剧将于6月6日登陆EPIX。　　Set-in present-day Europe, War of the Worlds is a multi-faceted series, based on the story by H.G.
